Our eyes met and with a look of disdain, she literally says out loud with her mouth in front of a whole line of customers, "Does your husband dress you like that?"
One day I was doing the Walmart thing and when I got to the register the cashier gave me a "look." You know I take those "looks" as challenges. Like, come on, what you got? I'm gonna make your day.
I made the first move. I flashed a smile and an upbeat "Hello!"
Our eyes met and with a look of disdain, she literally says out loud with her mouth in front of a whole line of customers, "Does your husband dress you like that?"
I had only two ways to go with this so I took a dramatic pause, breathed real deep, and replied "Maam, do you THINK that my husband could color coordinate like this?" and I waved my arm in a downward motion for dramatic flair.
The whole line started to laugh. When everyone started laughing she started to laugh and gave me a knowing look of defeat and nodded and she looked at me and said "that was good."
I was just grateful for my good mood and sense of humor for they have carried me through many store aisles.
We all left that day a little better than when it started.

Adnane Ijai absolutely can color coordinate like that and maybe better than I. She, however, did not need to know that. As long as we are being completely transparent, I hate Walmart.**
